THE WORKSHOPS
Merry-Andrew Afoot’s creative dramatics workshops are designed to help reading comprehension by developing students’ ability to visualize what they read. During these participatory workshops students become characters in a storybook, using their imagination to recreate the setting, the props, even the weather! These thrilling, participatory workshops are best performed with one classroom at a time and last 30 - 45 minutes.

Books Frequently Used by Merry-Andrew Afoot
I have not categorized the list because everyone who uses books for Creative Dramatics finds their own way to bring the story to life. Different teachers may use the same book with different ages and a multitude of different themes. It is not important to read a story word-for-word to act it. When acting out a book, give the students a starting point (by defining spaces in the room or organizing the characters), then let the students lead you through the story, until it is time for you to guide the adventure to a gentle ending.
